Background:
Tonkolili District Collage of Health Sciences (TDCHS) was established in 2011 by the Masanga Hospital Rehabilitation Project (MHRP) as a Tertiary Institution to educate qualified health staff. The project is designed in line with the Human Resources development plan for the Ministry of Health and Sanitation to assist Sierra Leone, especially Tonkolili District, in its development of a modern health care system, as well as for general development for the district. This September the College will open a Bachelor in Physiotherapy (BSc PT) and 30 students will be enrolled.
TDCHS provides newly modernized facilities: Big light class room with teaching aids, a fully functional multidisciplinary skills lab with new equipment, a large study library and student hostels. The college is located on the hospital compound which gives the students great possibilities for first hand experiences.
Job Summary:
A college registrar maintains the academic record of all students and plans and implements the registration process for classes. He or she works with other administrators to coordinate times and locations for class meetings and resolve scheduling conflicts. Other responsibilities include keeping records of all college classes and curriculum prerequisites, determining students' graduation eligibility, planning commencement activities and preparing information such as honors lists, transcripts and class rankings.
The Registrar is responsible to the Principal and the Tonkolili District College of Health Sciences Board.
Main Responsibilities
- Directs and coordinates college registration activities: Consults with other officials to devise registration schedules and procedures.
- Analyzes statistical data on registration for administrative use in formulating policies.
- Exchanges student information with other colleges.
- Directs preparation of student transcripts and certificates
- Prepares commencement list.
- Directs preparation of statistical reports on educational activities for educational agencies and interprets registration policies to faculty and students.
- Directs activities of workers engaged in transcribing and evaluating academic records of students applying for permission to enter TDCHS.
- Coordinates dissemination of information on courses offered and procedures students are required to follow in order to obtain grade transcripts.
- Issues official transcripts.
- Coordinates class schedules with room assignments for optimum use of buildings and equipment.

Terms and condition
The starting date of the position is 1st September, 2018. The length of the contract will be one year with possibility of extension.
