               INFECTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL ADVANCE TRAINING COURSE

 

The National Infection Prevention and Control Unit (NIPCU)  in the Directorate of Health Security and Emergencies under the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MoHS), is looking for enthusiastic and motivated healthcare workers interested in participating in the National  Infection Prevention and Control Advance training program. The program will provide in-depth knowledge, skills and practical experience in IPC, healthcare epidemiology and surveillance, outbreak detection and response, leadership and management skills. At the end of the course, participants will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively apply IPC theories and practices in Sierra Leone’s healthcare facilities, and the ability to train other healthcare workers to improve IPC capacity in Sierra Leone. The program will include four two-week contact sessions over six months starting in April 2019. Participants will also be expected to complete assignment in a clinical setting between contact sessions.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a Registered health professional (SRN, CHO, Lab. Technician, Pharm. Technician) with at least 3 years of clinical experience

  • Must be registered with the relevant Health professional board

  • Currently employed by the Ministry of Health and Sanitation

  • Must have a Basic certificate in IPC

  • Current or prior experience implementing IPC activities in health facilities

  • Committed to attending ALL training sessions and completing assignments

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Report writing skills

Applicants must submit an application with certified photocopy of relevant documents and letter of recommendation from current supervisor, to the National Infection Prevention and Control Unit (NIPCU) Ground Floor, Youyi Building, Brookfields by close of day on 15th February, 2019.
