We are seeking competent, reliable and self-motivated individuals to contribute to our Global Priorities by joining us in our Sierra Leone Country Office to ensure the delivery of high-quality project activities in the target communities with a focus on building the capacity of Save the Children staff and key institutions with which SC collaborates, including both government and non-government agencies and organizations to ensure project quality and sustainability.

 

In this role, you will work closely with the Supply Chain/ Operations, responsible for the effective application of SCI supply Chain policies and practises and enforcement of SCI reporting systems and internal control procedures and will provide support to the Field/country Programme.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly. 

 

In order to be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in the areas of supply chain/procurement

 

Child Protection level - 3 the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Degree/ diploma in business administration and/or procurement.

  • At least 6 months minimum experiences in the areas of supply chain/procurement 

  • Experience in supporting and training other staff is an added advantage

  • Demonstrated good skills and experience in working with supply chain systems.

  • Knowledge and experience of computer applications (MS Word, excel, etc)

  • Good personal organisational skills including time management and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Ability to work as part of the team and to fit in well within multicultural organisation

  • Attention to detail and accuracy essential

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s values, principals and Child Safeguarding policy.

  • Fluent in English and Krio (both orally and written)

Desirable:

  • Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.

  • Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.

  • Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses.

  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures

  • Ability to intervene with crisis management or troubleshooting as necessary. 

  • Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses Computer literacy.

Contract length: 12 months
