We are seeking competent, reliable and self-motivated individuals to contribute to our Global Priorities by joining us in our Sierra Leone Country Office to ensure the delivery of high-quality project activities in the target communities with a focus on building the capacity of Save the Children staff and key institutions with which SC collaborates, including both government and non-government agencies and organizations to ensure project quality and sustainability.

 

In this role, you will work closely with the Supply Chain Coordinator,responsible for supporting all fleet needs and serves as a link between the internal (drivers, other staff members) and external (SCI visitors/ donors, furl providers vehicle hire companies and government parastals like NRA, Police) stakeholders on fleet related issues.

 

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly. 

 

  • In order to be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in planning and implementing transport/fleet management processes and procedures. 

 

Child Protection level - 3 the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of a Diploma in Transport/Fleet Management or Logistics /Supply Chain from a recognized institution.

  • Valid driving license for all classes.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • At least 3 years’ experience in fleet management 

  • Advanced knowledge of automotive mechanics is an advantage.

  • Computer literacy.

  • Analytical, good documentation, basic budgetary and financial management skills.

  • Planning skills necessary for planning and implementing transport / fleet management processes and procedures.

  • Ability to relate with staff. 

  • Time management.

  • Confidentiality.

  • Effective interpersonal skills - oral and written communication skills.

 

Contract length: 12 months
