GOAL is long established in Sierra Leone and has teams in Western Area Urban (Freetown), Kambia Kenema, Moyamba, Bombali and Koinadugu Districts. We contribute to poverty and vulnerability reduction. We focus on maternal, child and adolescent health, rural water supply, urban waste management and promoting social inclusion and decent work.
GOAL is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Sierra Leoneans to join our WASH team and partners to protect water sources through construction of new boreholes and rehabilitation of seasonal hand dug wells. Job Title: Community Mobilizer
Duration: Up to 31st December, 2020.
Report to: WASH Officer
The CM role will involve a wide range of activities including working closely with community health workers and the District Health Management Team to facilitate discussions with community members and promote good hygiene practices and stimulate households to construct and use their own latrine. The Community Mobilizer will also be responsible for following up with communities on hygiene practices discussions and after triggering events in CLTS in his/her designated operational area, and for regularly reporting progress and challenges to the WASH Officer
To succeed in this role, you must have a diploma in community development / Public Health or a related field, experience working with communities in a CBO or NGO environment, basic computer skills with the use of Microsoft Word.
